ESIC Strives to Connect Power Engineering Students and Employers

Students

Utilize the Voiland Internship & Career Services to help you reach your career goals.

In addition, create a Handshake account to learn of industry positions, events, and career opportunities for WSU students.

  • Handshake is an important way for you to learn of industry positions, events, and career opportunities.
  • Not all companies post with both Handshake and ESIC Power Listservs, so it is important to participate in both!
  • Recommended: Select security setting option to make your Handshake information visible to “Community” so that power engineering employers can search for you under Electrical Engineering (use key words such as power engineering to enhance search capabilities).
  • Review all the links for profile set-up.
  • Recommended: Fully complete your profile and make public your resume; update your resume as you acquire new relevant academic or work experience.

Looking for an internship or job? Post your profile on the Career Services Professional Applicant Portal.

Participate in the Industry Lunch & Learn Events and bookmark the page to stay up-to-date on events.

Follow our LinkedIn for job postings, internships, and so much more!

Join our Undergraduate Power Track Mailing List

Email esic.center@wsu.edu requesting to be added to the power track mailing list to receive emails focused on student opportunities specific to power engineering.

Employers

Email job and internship posting directly to esic.center@wsu.edu and the Voiland Career Services at vcea.internship@wsu.edu.

In addition, register for and post positions on Handshake (it’s free!).

  • Handshake is a full-service platform used at WSU, across all campus locations, to post job and internship openings, and recruitment events
  • Navigate to “For Employers” and create an account. We cannot post on your behalf on Handshake.

PEP members benefit from a free both at both the WSU Career Expo and IEEE Career Fair. Become a member today for a hiring advantage with our outstanding students!

When planning special events please also contact both ESIC and VCEA Student Success. Both will help communicate these events to current students and facilitate them as needed. Below are additional opportunties for recruiting students.

  • Company site visits / open houses / information sessions
  • Scholarship recipient visits
  • Event sponsorship
  • Alumni panels / industry tours / Lunch & Learn with Industry
  • Resume reviews / career coaching / mock interviews / technical interview tips
  • And any other ideas you may have!
