WSU Power Professorship Program 50th Anniversary Celebration
Evening Banquet
The evening festivities capped an excellent day of activities. Guests joined ESIC members, industry leaders, honorees, faculty, staff, students and colleagues at The Gladish Event Center for a banquet partially hosted by the WSU President’s Office and the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS). Our evening program included Keynote Speakers: Edmund O. Schweitzer, III, Founder, President and Chief Technology Officer – Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories; and Dennis Vermillion, President and CEO – Avista Corporation, who both spoke eloquently of the impact the power professorship has had on them, countless students, and the power industry. They were joined by President Kirk Schulz and Director Pande in expressing the importance of celebrating the success of this program and its role at WSU.
After presentations of plaques were made to our memorial honorees, members and lifelong contributors, Director Venkatasubramanian ended the evening with the hope that the Power Professorship Program and ESIC will be celebrating another milestone 100 years from now.
